A session on 'Regional Sea Level Change and Uncertainties' will be held at the upcoming AGU Fall Meeting, 5-9 December; 2011 at San Francisco, California, USA.

The deadline to submit an abstract is August 4. See further details on the meeting's page.

G16 - Regional Sea Level Change and Uncertainties
Coastal planning and impact assessments need reliable observations and predictions of regional sea level change and uncertainties. However, current knowledge is still limited because (1) the integral nature of sea level complicates the identification of individual contributions in observations, and (2) the large spread in simulations makes it challenging to interpret the results. We invite papers that discuss recent and future regional sea level change and its uncertainties, considering steric and non-steric contributions. Of interest are studies that synthesize oceanographic and geodetic data sets and model simulations to determine the patterns, amplitudes and time scales of dynamic ocean and external processes that affect regional sea level.

Conveners(s): Felix Landerer (Jet Propulsion Laboratory), Eric Leuliette (NOAA), Mark Tamisiea (National Oceanography Centre).
